Starting a new year means starting new routines. Something I like to update is my skincare routine after getting loads of new products for Christmas. I do this routine morning and night to help my skin glow and look healthy. I've always seen skincare as the most important step in your beauty routine as it creates a base for your makeup and well-kept and looked after skin from a young age will benefit massively later in life.
I start my skincare routine with showering and using a small amount of Clinique exfoliating scrub on my fingertips and working it into my skin gently. When using a scrub its important that it’s not worked too hard as it can create tiny grazes on the surface of the skin which can then collect dirt and cause acne. (I don't do this step every day but around 2 times a week to remove dead skin). After this, I then use the warm water to wash it off.
Once my skin is clear of the scrub I take the Clinique foaming facial wash on the sonic face brush and in circular motions clean my face, washing this off with the Liz earle cotton cloth and warm water.
When I’m out of the shower I use a clean towel to pat my face dry and then apply the Clinique toner with a cotton wool pad. Following this, I use the Mother Dirt moisturizer mixed with one drop of the 111 skin 3 phase anti-blemish booster. Next, I apply the Clarins lip oil to my lips and then the Codex eye gel cream under my eyes and on my eyelids rubbing in gentle circular motions to help the blood flow and get rid of bags. I let all of this soak into my skin for around 5 minutes and then finish with the Sioris: time is running out mist which further helps to hydrate my skin.
Every week I also try to do a sheet mask as my skin gets very dry especially in the winter. My favorites to use are the Garnier moisture bomb masks which leave your skin looking beautiful and glowy.
If my skin is ever looking dull and extra dry I usually add a few drops of the tandem super oil to my skin at the end of my routine before bed to help it rejuvenate overnight as oils don't usually sit well under makeup in the day.
