Brief: Create a trend prediction presentation for AW21/22 for each of the two areas. 1. FP Movement - Sustainable female activewear (including; garments, shapes, colours, fabrics, graphics, sustainable innovations) 2. Wholesale International Growth Strategy - Instore and Digital VM (including; global locations showing growth, experience, windows, marketing opportunities etc)
Working as a group we looked for key trend drivers that would help us predict the future trends for Free People’s FP Movement. Through well-thought-out research we found a trend for both activewear and visual merchandising. These were: Refreshing Primitivism and Mindful Purity.
Activewear trend A/W 21/22: Refreshing primitivism explores the resurgence of localism and the value of looking to the past to inform an uncertain future, with an emphasis on primitive design, elemental references, and craftsmanship.
Visual Merchandising trend A/W 21/22: Mindful Purity is a more mindful approach to consumption. This is reflected in a less-is-more approach to design. It focuses on durable and timeless sustainable materials and soothing and sophisticated colours
Response: The feedback from the FP Movement client was amazing. Natalie from FP was “speechless” after our presentation and said that the trends we predicted were accurate to what they have planned for FP movement.
