Hegarty on Creativity: There Are No Rules by John Hegarty

Over the quarantine period, I've started to read a lot more books, especially ones focused on art and fashion. I started with this book and I really enjoyed it!

It was a really easy read and I loved the message.

The book covers 50 themes that lie at the heart of creative thinking and the ideas that he writes about have inspired me to think in a lot more detail when working on a creative piece.

My favourite ways of being successful in creativity that he wrote about were these:

1- Get angry- channel the things that annoy/upset you into more creative tasks rather than getting stressed

2- When the world zigs, zag- look in the opposite direction to everyone else

3- Be fearless- be single-minded in the face of opposition

4- Ask Why? a lot- question everything like a child

5- Philosophy- always be looking, thinking, watching. Absorb everything around you
